Born October 28, 1936 in Ottawa, Ontario. Education at Queen's University and University of Western Ontario. Called to the Bars of Ontario, 1964; New Brunswick, 1979 and Alberta, 1985. Appointed Queen's Counsel, 1978. Past Chairman and Senior Partner with Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, Toronto; Past Director Irving Oil Limited, Brunswick Mining & Smelting Ltd. and Canaport Ltd.; International Arbitrator for (1) International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, (2) London Court of International Arbitration and (3) the American Arbitration Association. Appointed Judge of the Federal Court of Canada, Appeal Division and ex officio member of the Trial Division, June 23, 1998 and Judge of the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada, December 3, 1998. Since July 2, 2003, the date of the coming into force of the Courts Administration Service Act, he is now Judge of the Federal Court of Appeal.
