Born on June 23, 1940, at Windsor, Ontario. Education at Assumption University, Windsor; and Osgoode Hall, Toronto. Called to the Bar of Ontario, 1966. Became assistant Crown Attorney in 1966 in Toronto and Associate Professor of Law at University of Windsor in 1972 and Sessional Professor of Law. Director of Criminal Justice, Province of Saskatchewan. Called to the Bar of Saskatchewan, 1974. Director of Criminal Law Amendments, federal Department of Justice, 1976; and general counsel, criminal and constitutional law, 1981. Appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Ontario in 1983.
